Welcome to my professional and personal website - a place where I plan to share my career highlights for those who are interested, as well as a spot for me to explore my creative writing skills.

A Little Background

I am a language lover, avid reader, and information sponge. I enjoy learning new things and sharing stories with the world. I have two bachelor's degrees - English and Anthropology; I also have a master's degree in Applied Linguistics. Thus far in my professional career, I have worked as a researcher in medical anthropology, and held multiple teaching positions with various types of students - high school and university students, basic education adults, and English language learners.

Career Goals

While I find teaching others to be satisfying, I enjoy the research process much more. Identifying a problem or question, diving deep into the literature on the topic, constructing a process to find answers, analyzing data collected, and finally composing the findings to share knowledge is something I find extremely fulfilling. Essentially, pairing my love of learning new information with engaging my joy of writing would be an ideal combination for me in my career. One day I hope to write a book, to see my work in a bookstore with my name on it - that has been a goal of mine since I was a child, eagerly consuming as many books as possible.

Personal Goals

I greatly enjoy the outdoors and love to hike, bike, trail run, and cross-country ski. I am no great athlete, but being active and healthy is something I would like to prioritize in my life. I also enjoy playing the piano and ukulele, learning a language (currently working on German), photographing landscapes and nature, and writing creatively. I hope to use this page to share my thoughts on aspects of health and wellness, as well as share my photography, ideas on language, and creative writings.
